Is your data safe with Copilot?

When we bring up security and data assessments with customers after discussing Microsoft 365 Copilot, customers are often left confused and wondering how and why this is an issue.

A couple days ago, I was in a customer’s environment showing them the power of Copilot and how it increases productivity, but I thought I’d also show them a bit of an example as to why data classification and assessments are so critical before deploying Copilot in mass.

Copilot gives users the ability to search for information in files they have access to, and unfortunately, many organisations couldn’t tell you who has access to what data within their organisation.

The information below was located in SharePoint where others also have permission but may not actually know they have permission.

The key takeaway here is – before you deploy Copilot, make sure information isn’t “hiding in plain sight”, because Copilot gives you an easy way to find that information, regardless of its location.
